A call to all artists and creative people.

The Sierra Summer Festival and Mammoth Gallery announce the fifth annual creative competition for the Sierra Summer Festival poster, 2009 edition. Following the competitions for the '05-'08 posters, the Sierra Summer Festival and Mammoth Gallery welcome artists from across the Sierra to submit their work for consideration. The winner will be chosen by a final jury based on the top 3 popular votes, and will be featured on the 2009 edition of the widely collected Sierra Summer Festival prints.

The 2008 poster was the fourth in the distinguished Sierra Summer Festival series to have the image on the poster chosen through a creative competition. Twelve artists submitted work spanning the creative spectrum, and over 150 enthusiasts voted for their favorite. The winner, now featured on the 2008 poster, was an original photograph by Andy Selters, titled "Banner Peak Reflections".

MAMMOTH GALLERY is co-sponsoring the poster competition with Sierra Summer Festival. All art submitted for the Sierra Summer Festival Poster Competition will be on exhibit for the August 8 and 9 evening performance of the "Visions of the Eastern Sierra" at the Mountainside Conference Center at Mammoth Mountain. All audience participants will then have the opportunity to cast their vote for the 2009 Souvenir Poster. A selected jury will decide the winner from the top three finalists, which will be decided by popular vote. The winner will be announced in our local paper and by personal letter.

All participating artists will receive two complimentary tickets to the Saturday evening concert on August 9, 2008. All artwork on display will be available for purchase according to the entry form and all artwork will need to be removed at the close of the concert on Saturday evening, August 9. All entries will be for sale during the reception evening and throughout the exhibit, with the proceeds shared between the artists, the Sierra Summer Festival, and Mammoth Gallery.
